The answer is simple, for those who have money say, money can’t buy everything and those who do not have money, are always thinking of money as the route cause of happiness. I think happiness is just a state of mind and it’s tuned the way you want it to.
It’s manifestation of positive thinking which depends upon your attitude and reaction to various external stimuli. Is Sanjay dutt happy today? Considering that the court’s verdict has finally brought some decision of his fate, its good news and the imprisonment is bad news but that’s the way it is and how you take the decision will decide what kind of attitude you have. Which will in turn decide whether you are happy or unhappy.

I don't think anybody had said that or would say that or will say that the money is absolutely unnecessary to be happy.
Saying the same thing differantly only the free-person [free-off-self or free-from-self or me or mine or selfless or unselfish-person] like Gandhiji or Vivekananda or any Religious-People would say that money is absolutely unnecessary to be happy.
But for us mortals rich or poor or beggars or even for the Religious-People money is absolutely important to provide for the food,shelter and clothings and some future security for ourselves and our families.
But that's when the things starting to get a little bit ugly.
How much money should we have to ensure the safety,protection,security etc..??
And setting the limit is a bit tricky too..!!
Like everythings,once we have attachment to the things and people including the husband,children, wife,house,car,job etc letting it go is the big problem.
We want to be free-off free-from me or mine or looking for the freedom but like the spider neither we are able to leave the net nor can we de-struct [opposite of the construct] it.
To be free-off self or to be free-from self or me or mine or to be selfless or unselfish,I believe requires divine blows or blessings.
In the meantime we are destined to be governed by others like we govern the insects,birds,beasts, brutes or animals.
Think of that..!!
